According to the MOBYE PDF Rescue Team (MPRT), intense clashes are currently ongoing between junta forces and the People’s Defense Forces (PDF) in a location along the Shan-Kayah border as of January 22.
The MOBYE PDF Rescue Team reported a critical need for medical supplies and fuel to sustain their operations.
On January 22, around 2 a.m., the junta forces launched attacks near Loei Wine Village in Mobye Township, dropping approximately four bombs, each weighing 500 pounds.
The clashes involve the junta’s 422nd Light Infantry Battalion, which has deployed a large number of troops for offensives. The resistance forces are actively engaging in combat to counter these advances.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 2. Monk Killed and Civilians Injured Due to Junta Atrocities in Hlaingbwe District

According to a statement from the Karen National Union (KNU), a monk was killed, and another monk and a civilian were injured due to junta atrocities in Hlaingbwe District under KNU’s Kawthoolei administrative area in Hlaingbwe Township, on January 21.
At around 3 p.m. on January 21, junta forces stationed at a monastery in Yay Kyi Chaung Village indiscriminately fired heavy artillery and launched drone attacks, striking monasteries and villages, including Hmow Phya Village and Kwinn Dala Gyi Monastery.
During the first drone strike, a 35-year-old civilian from Hmow Phya Village was injured. The second strike resulted in the death of a 50-year-old monk at Kwinn Dala Gyi Monastery and injuries to a 49-year-old monk.
Furthermore, at approximately 10 a.m., heavy artillery fired by the junta’s 264th Battalion in Paing Zol Base hit Pyin Yae West Village, damaging several civilian homes.
In another incident in Mu Township on January 18, junta forces from Khofla Leikhaw Base entered Ta Yekho Village around 6 a.m. and abducted three civilians aged 18, 23, and 25.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 3. PDFs Ambush SAC Convoy Resupplying Nyangbyupin Police Outpost, Killing Two Pyusawhti Members

On January 22, at approximately 8:30 a.m., People’s Defense Forces (PDFs) ambushed two supply convoys heading to Nyangbyupin Police Outpost from Taung Pu Village and Nyangbyupin Village, using two Padetha landmines.
The attack resulted in the deaths of two Pyusawhti militia members and injuries to five others, two of whom lost their legs. Supplies were abandoned at the ambush site, and the surviving convoy members retreated.
This operation was jointly carried out by Chaung Oo PDF, Monywa District Battalions 23, 25, and 28, BLDF, Special Force 11, and Immortal Guerrilla Force. Supplies left at the scene remain as of now.

Since January 21, clashes have reignited between Mandalay Region’s People’s Defense Forces (PDFs) and junta forces, according to MDY PDF’s reports.
Junta forces have been shelling areas in Mattayar Township and advancing with ground troops, resulting in clashes around Pha Yaung Taung, Htan Pin Kone Village, and Myo Kone Village.
In addition, fighting has been reported near Than Bo Village in Naung Cho Township and 7-Mile Village in Thabeikkyin Township.
On January 21 and 22, junta airstrikes targeted residential areas in Naung Cho Township, causing significant civilian casualties.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 5. PNLA Successfully Deploys Federal Shield Anti-Drone Jammer in Battlefield Testing

The Pa-O National Liberation Army (PNLA) successfully deployed the Federal Shield, an anti-drone jammer developed by Federal Wings, in battlefield testing. The jammer effectively thwarted enemy drone attacks, according to a statement from Federal Wings on January 22.
The Federal Shield is a result of the efforts of Federal Wings’ Research & Development (R&D) team. Federal Wings aims to supply this technology to other resistance forces as needed to strengthen their operations.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 6. Yangon Region Military Command Concludes Basic Military Training Course (Batch 3/2024)

The Yangon Region Military Command of the National Unity Government (NUG), under the Ministry of Defense and the People’s Defense Force (PDF), conducted the graduation ceremony for the Basic Military Training Course (Batch 3/2024) at a frontline location, according to an official statement from the Yangon Region Military Command.
Members of the Yangon Region Military Command leadership attended the ceremony, which included a graduation speech encouraging the trainees to uphold military discipline, exhibit courage and competence in battle, and become exemplary soldiers who make the people proud. Additionally, the soldiers were reminded to demonstrate unwavering loyalty and obedience. The ceremony also featured the oath of allegiance and water-offering rituals.
The statement further noted that outstanding trainees who maintained discipline and excelled during the training period were awarded honors.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 7. Column of Military Junta Trucks Transporting Copper Attacked with Landmines Near Monywa

A convoy of military junta trucks transporting copper from Sagaing Region’s Sagaing Township towards Monywa was attacked with landmines on the Chaung-U to Myinmu road, according to the Lightning Division.
The attack occurred on January 22 at approximately 10:50 AM. The convoy consisted of 50 cargo trucks accompanied by 8 security vehicles. Landmines, pre-installed at a strategic location, were detonated as the convoy passed through.
In response, the junta forces deployed a drone for reconnaissance and retaliated with both heavy and light weaponry. However, the revolutionary allied forces involved in the operation retreated without casualties.
The operation was a collaborative effort by the Lightning Division, Eleven People Defense Force, Bo Naing Gale Storm People Defense Force, Royal Tiger Force (Salingyi), and the Nway Oo Brothers Column.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 8. Two Consecutive Days of Drone Bombing Against Junta-Controlled Locations in Salingyi

The Chin Dwin Dynamite People’s Defense Force reported that two consecutive days of drone bombings targeted a junta military base and a junta-occupied administrative office in Salingyi Township, Yinmarbin District, Sagaing Region.
The first attack took place on January 21 at around 4:35 PM. It was conducted collaboratively by the Chin Dwin Dynamite People’s Defense Force (Salingyi), Battalion 35, Sub-Battalion 3 of Yinmarbin District, the Red Wing Special Guerilla Force (Salingyi), and Solo Aung Gyi (Salingyi), using fixed-wing drones.
The second attack occurred on January 22 at approximately 7:10 AM, carried out by the same groups, alongside Sub-Unit 1 of Battalion 35, Yinmarbin District, and the 5/Fighter Group (Monywa). Fixed-wing drones were once again used for the operation.
The attacks are reported to have inflicted casualties on junta forces, although detailed assessments are still underway.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 9. Airstrike by Junta Forces in Naung Cho Township Kills 8 Civilians

On January 22 at 11:24 AM, a jet fighter from the military junta conducted an airstrike near a police station and a tea shop called "Parami" in Naung Cho Township, within the jurisdiction of the Ta’ang (Palaung) Army Brigade 2, according to a report from the TNLA (Ta’ang National Liberation Army).
The airstrike resulted in the deaths of eight civilians—three women and five men—and injured one individual. Two houses and the police station were also damaged in the attack.
Local firefighters, the police force under the PSLF/TNLA, and civilians coordinated rescue and medical treatment efforts for those affected by the airstrike.
On January 21, junta forces similarly dropped two bombs using jet fighters in Naung Cho without any preceding battle, deliberately targeting the civilian population.
