๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. During the extraction of seven defecting soldiers who fled with weapons, three defectors and one PDF fighter died due to an SAC drone attack.

On January 17, it was reported that seven soldiers, including a company commander and deputy company commander, who were forcibly conscripted by the junta, defected with their weapons to the Ministry of Defense under the National Unity Government (NUG) and sought refuge with the People’s Defense Forces (PDF) in Naypyidaw.

While efforts were being made to extract the defectors, the enemy deployed drone strikes, resulting in the deaths of three defecting soldiers and one PDF fighter. Additionally, Zeya Thiri Township PDF commander and a Lewe Township PDF fighter were severely injured during the attack.

On January 19, a formal ceremony was held at Martyrs’ Hill to honor the fallen fighters.

NUG also expressed gratitude to the ERO leaders, allied battalion commanders, and all comrades who participated in assisting with the extraction of the defectors and providing the necessary support for the fallen soldiers' final journey.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. Eight deaths, including police officers, reported due to junta airstrikes, according to Falam District police chief.

On January 4, the Myanmar junta launched an airstrike on a school in Khun Long village, Falam Township, Chin State, which was being used by the Chin National Defense Force (CNDF). The attack resulted in the deaths of eight individuals, including junta-affiliated police officers and one family member, according to a video statement from the Falam District police chief.

“Our forces had secured the school building. At around 11:15 PM, we came under aerial attack. Among the casualties were one police chief inspector, three deputy inspectors, three other officers, and one female family member—making a total of eight deaths,” said U Moe Naing, the police chief of Falam District.

The CNDF previously announced that 43 junta-affiliated police officers had surrendered in Falam Township on November 12, 2024.

In the video statement, district and township police chiefs, along with deputy police inspectors, assured the public that the defected officers are being treated well under international humanitarian laws and urged more individuals to join the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) without worry for their safety.

“Honestly, we didn’t expect to face such an attack. As police officers, we were simply carrying out our duties when captured. Seeing eight of my colleagues, including family members, killed before my eyes was truly heartbreaking. I never thought such actions would be directed toward us,” said Deputy Inspector U Khin Maung Htun.

Revolutionary groups reiterated their commitment to treating defectors humanely in compliance with international laws and extended an open invitation for more defectors to join the resistance.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 3. Pyu Saw Htee militia and soldiers extorting civilians ambushed with mines on the Monywa-Mandalay highway.

At approximately 9:12 AM on January 24, an ambush using landmines targeted Pyu Saw Htee militia members and junta soldiers notorious for patrolling and extorting civilians along the Monywa-Mandalay highway near Taopu village in Sagaing Region, according to a statement by Chaung-U Township PDF.

The attack reportedly left seven individuals from the junta side severely injured. Further details of the injuries are still under investigation.

Although the militia and soldiers returned fire with small arms, revolutionary forces successfully withdrew without casualties.

The ambush was a coordinated effort involving Chaung-U Township PDF Attack Unit (CHU PDF), Special Force-11 (LPDF) Monywa, and Monywa Dynamite Special Task Force (STF), as stated in their report.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 4. Khaw Zar-based Battalion 31 attacked by Mon revolutionary forces and PDF.

Mon State, Ye Township, Khaw Zar: On January 23 at 8:15 AM, Mon State Revolutionary Forces (MSRF), in collaboration with the NMSP Anti-Dictatorship Unit (NMSP-AD) and the People’s Defense Force (PDF), launched an attack on SAC’s Battalion 31 stationed in Khaw Zar, according to an MSRF announcement.

The skirmish involved intense exchanges of fire for about 30 minutes, resulting in seven junta soldiers killed and approximately three others wounded.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 5. Sniper Attack on a Checkpoint Near Pakari Police Station, Resulting in One Fatality

The YePhyu People's Defence Force (YPPDF) has reported a sniper attack on regime troops stationed at a checkpoint near the Pakari Police Station in Dawei Township, Tanintharyi Region. These troops were allegedly extorting money from passersby under the guise of security checks.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:30 PM on January 24. A sniper unit from the YePhyu People’s Defence Force launched the attack on the checkpoint, resulting in the death of one regime soldier. Following the attack, the sniper team successfully withdrew without sustaining any casualties.

The YPPDF also urged local civilians to remain vigilant during this heightened period of military activity. Additionally, they called upon regime forces and police personnel to abandon their positions and align themselves with the people's resistance without delay.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 6. Two Civilians Injured in Drone and Artillery Strikes by Junta Forces in Doo Tha Htoo District

The Karen National Union (KNU) reported that two civilians were injured due to drone and artillery attacks by junta forces in the KNU-controlled Doo Tha Htoo District.

On January 23, at approximately 3:30 PM, two bombs were dropped from a drone in the vicinity of Thone Khu Village, Kyaukkyi Township. The attack caused damage to an old car workshop and injured a resident, identified as Saw Ae Soe, from Win Kan Village across the river.

Following the drone strike, locals observed the drone flying towards junta military bases at LIB 207 and LIB 310.

Later, at around 4:45 PM, troops from LIB 9 fired artillery into Wi Yaw Village, Thaton Township. One shell landed in Thot Kauk Kyu Village, injuring a 13-year-old boy named Saw Kyaw Htet Htein.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 7. Civilian Severely Injured in Landmine Explosion in Man Kaung Village

The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) reported that a civilian was severely injured after stepping on a landmine in Man Kaung Village, under the control of TNLA Brigade 2 in northern Shan State.

The incident occurred on January 22 at around 8 PM. The victim, identified as 34-year-old U Sai Li Naw, stepped on the landmine near the site of a former military base of LIB 504.

The explosion resulted in the amputation of both of his hands and fingers, along with severe injuries to his face and body.

In a related incident, on January 7, another civilian, U Aik Sai, from San Peik Village in Thibaw Township, lost one of his legs after stepping on a landmine while clearing grass in his yard.
