๐๐ 1. Chinland Council and Interim Chin National Consultative Council Agree to Form the Chin National Council
The Chinland Council and the Interim Chin National Consultative Council (ICNCC) have reached a mutual understanding that having two separate councils for the Chin people within Chinland is not ideal. As a result, both parties have agreed to merge into a single new council, which will be named the Chin National Council, according to a press release issued on February 26.
Additionally, they have agreed to establish a Chin National Constitution Drafting Committee to expedite the formation of the Chin National Council.
Chin people are encouraged to warmly welcome and support this agreement, which aims to promote unity among the Chin community.
Expressing his appreciation for this milestone, NUG Minister of Home Affairs and Immigration, U Lwin Ko Latt, stated on social media:
"I am delighted and proud of the success of Chin leaders in bringing the Chinland Council (CC) and the Interim Chin National Consultative Council (ICNCC) together to form the Chin National Council and to work towards drafting the Chin National Constitution."

๐๐ 2. Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun Marks Four Years of Standing with the People in the Civil Disobedience Movement
February 26 marks four years since Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun took a stand alongside the people and joined the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM). Reflecting on this, Dr. Htun Aung Shwe, NUG Representative to Australia, expressed his admiration and respect for the ambassador's courageous decision.
"Today marks the day the Ambassador fearlessly stood with the people and fully committed himself to the revolution. His efforts in bringing the Civil Disobedience Movement to the United Nations have turned it into one of the most profound and powerful acts of resistance. On this fourth anniversary, I would like to express my deep respect and admiration for him."
Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun, Myanmar's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, continues to advocate at the UN and with international governments to hold the SAC accountable for its brutal and oppressive actions.

๐๐ 3. Invitation to Participate in the Sit-Toung Campaign Lottery Featuring Portrait Paintings of General Bo Mya and Padoh Mahn Sha Lah Phan by Artist Saw Kanedi
The Sit-Toung Campaign is being conducted to help protect the people living along the Sit-Toung River, near Naypyidaw, from the dangers posed by the brutal military regime.
The Overseas Karen Organization Japan (OKOJ) has announced an exclusive lottery campaign in Japan featuring a portrait painting of General Bo Mya, a highly respected Karen revolutionary leader and former KNU chairman, painted by artist Saw Kanedi. OKOJ has invited the public to participate in this lottery to support the campaign.
The lottery campaign will run until March 30, and those interested in participating can purchase a lottery ticket for JPY 5,000 by contacting the OKOJ Facebook page messenger.
Similarly, another Sit-Toung Campaign initiative will include a lottery featuring a portrait painting of Karen revolutionary leader Padoh Mahn Sha Lah Phan, also created by artist Saw Kanedi. A total of 3,000 lottery tickets will be sold for this artwork, with each ticket priced at USD 20. The lottery sales will be open from February 28 to March 21, according to the Sit-Toung Campaign organizers.

๐๐ 4. Myanmar Records the Highest Number of Landmine and Explosive-Related Casualties in the World
In 2023, Myanmar recorded the highest number of casualties in the world due to landmines and explosive remnants of war (ERW), according to the Landmine Monitor, as cited by UN OCHA Myanmar. This alarming statistic underscores the urgent need for civilian protection.
Mine action efforts, including mine risk education and victim assistance, are critical components of addressing this crisis. However, funding for these initiatives remains a pressing necessity, according to the report.
In 2023, a total of 1,003 people were either killed or injured due to landmines and explosive devices. Additionally, a UNICEF report covering January to May 2022 recorded 162 civilian deaths nationwide as a result of landmine explosions or explosive remnants of war.

๐๐ 5. People's Security Forces Inspect and Advise on Civilian-Built Trenches and Bunkers in Phal Khon Township
The People’s Security Forces (PSF) in Phal Khon Township have been conducting field inspections of trenches and bunkers built by local villagers in response to public demands for protection.
According to a press release, the PSF has provided guidance and recommendations for necessary improvements to these trenches and bunkers. While some of the structures were found to be well-built, others required adjustments to enhance their safety and durability.
Due to frequent military airstrikes and heavy artillery attacks carried out by the coup regime, the PSF has urged the public to remain vigilant and construct trenches and bunkers systematically to ensure maximum protection.
The PSF has also encouraged villagers to consult local experts for structural inspections to ensure strength and reliability. Those needing further guidance can reach out to the Pa La Pha office in Phal Khon Township for assistance.
