Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann stated that the commitment to fighting until the collapse of the oppressive military dictatorship, which the people reject, remains steadfast. He made this remark during the third-anniversary event of the Myanmar Federal Democratic Mission Coalition (MFDMC).

"Our people have been providing support with the sincere desire to bring down the terrorist military council. Because of this support, we strongly feel that we must fight with all our resources until the collapse of this military dictatorship that the people do not want. The revolution incurs enormous expenses. We do not have sufficient resources. However, regardless of the circumstances, we deeply appreciate what we have received," he said.

Union Minister for Human Rights, U Aung Myo Min, stated that there are now trained individuals capable of delivering human rights education in person, rather than solely online.

"It is essential that administrative, defense, and security personnel who hold responsibilities become more knowledgeable about human rights. Various educational initiatives are being conducted. Due to challenges in internet connectivity, traditional in-person training sessions have been conducted to ensure access to human rights education. ๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 4. No Absolute Ban on Logging for Three Years in Arakan Region, Says AA

March 3
Radio NUG

The Arakan Army (AA) has clarified that there has been no official announcement imposing a complete ban on logging in the Arakan Region for the past three years. This statement was made by U Khaing Thukha, the spokesperson for the United League of Arakan/Arakan Army (ULA/AA), according to a report by APM.

"I have not come across any official directive stating that logging has been banned for three years. However, to prevent illegal logging, regional orders have been issued to regulate and control logging activities," U Khaing Thukha said.

He stated that large amounts of timber were previously smuggled by paying bribes to the military council through various methods. He particularly noted that vast quantities of illegally felled timber were transported from Gwa Township into the Ayeyarwady Region via main roads.

Some of the timber that was illegally felled in collaboration with the military council has been confiscated by the Arakan People’s Revolutionary Government, which intends to utilize it for regional rehabilitation efforts.

However, privately felled timber is not subject to any movement or business restrictions, as long as appropriate taxation is paid, and the business operates within the prescribed regulations.

U Khaing Thukha further pointed out that successive governments in Rakhine State have historically allowed business elites to engage in large-scale illegal logging operations, which has led to severe deforestation.

Due to deforestation, the people of Rakhine now face serious natural disasters such as flooding and landslides during the monsoon season every year.

Radio NUG

The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) reports that political prisoners across Myanmar are being subjected to increasing oppression, including restricted access to food supplies sent by their families, visitation bans, and inadequate medical treatment.

In Kyaikmaraw Prison, Mon State, authorities have imposed stricter regulations on food parcels sent by families, allowing only limited amounts of supplies into the prison. Additionally, access to books and reading materials has been restricted.

Similarly, in Insein Prison, Yangon, political prisoners such as labor rights leader Thet Hnin Aung, photojournalist Sai Zaw Thike, and Naing Win were reportedly subjected to interrogation and physical abuse by prison authorities. This crackdown followed their testimonies to a human rights commission regarding rights violations inside the prison. After being tortured and beaten, they were placed in solitary confinement.

Furthermore, in February, three political prisoners died in detention due to a lack of adequate medical treatment following their arrest by the military junta.
