๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 1. Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Reaffirms Recognition of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH)

On April 9, during the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, the IPU Executive Committee reaffirmed its recognition of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH), according to reports.

Since the 142nd IPU Assembly held in March 2021—following the unlawful military coup in Myanmar—the Inter-Parliamentary Union has recognized the CRPH as the legitimate parliamentary body representing the people of Myanmar. The decision allowed CRPH delegates to participate as observers in IPU assemblies, symbolizing international recognition of their representative legitimacy.

In 2022, the CRPH representatives participated in IPU meetings virtually. From March 2023 onwards, starting with the 146th Assembly held in Manama, Bahrain, they have attended in person.

This continued recognition by the IPU—a global organization composed of over 180 national parliaments—represents the international community’s respect for the Myanmar people's unwavering aspiration for democracy and their ongoing resistance against the illegitimate military regime, the CRPH stated in its official release.
