April 17 — Radio NUG
At the graduation ceremony of the Week 5 Basic Military Training conducted on March 25 by the Ayeyarwady Regional Command’s Operation Area 2 (Southern Military Zone), including Battalion 29 of the AYA PDF, U Yee Mon, the National Unity Government’s Minister of Defense, delivered a speech via online platform, according to a statement from AYA PDF.
In his address, Minister U Yee Mon stated:
“According to our military grand strategy, we must move through three phases. The first phase involved efforts to activate full-scale military operations nationwide. At this point, we can say that, to a certain extent, troop formations and deployments have been successfully established across regions. The return journey of the Ayeyarwady people has significantly contributed to the completeness of our full-scale military strategy.
The second phase is the implementation of strategic offensives, with coordinated operations aimed at capturing towns and enemy camps. Our forces are now in the midst of this phase.
The third phase will involve launching a comprehensive nationwide offensive campaign. I would like to inform everyone that the National Unity Government, the People’s Defense Force, and allied revolutionary forces are currently preparing for and striving towards the execution of this major offensive.”
The Ayeyarwady Region and the Delta Island area are expected to serve as critical strategic fronts in this upcoming large-scale campaign. The revolutionary commanders have commended the Delta Island residents for their obedience to orders, adherence to military discipline, and combat effectiveness. As a result, it is believed that the Ayeyarwady Region and the Delta area will be able to assume their strategic responsibilities with confidence.
“It is a testament to the exceptional dedication, skill, and valor of our comrades that a four-year-old PDF movement has been able to weaken and disrupt a heavily armed terrorist military institution that has been in place for over 70 years,” the Minister praised.
