๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 1. NUG Deputy Minister of Health: 383 Hospitals Across the Country Destroyed by Junta’s Airstrikes and Attacks

May 30
A total of 383 hospitals across Myanmar have been destroyed due to airstrikes, artillery shelling, and acts of violence committed by the terrorist military, according to Dr. Shwe Pon, Deputy Minister of Health for the National Unity Government (NUG).

In urging public support, Dr. Shwe Pon called on people to contribute toward establishing safe healthcare services and hospitals across Myanmar, highlighting the collaborative efforts of the NUG Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health.

“Since the momentum of the revolution intensified, the terrorist military has been deliberately targeting hospitals and clinics. Despite having pledged to treat anyone regardless of background, we — as healthcare workers — have had to risk our lives, working amid airstrikes and conflict zones.
So far, 142 healthcare workers, including senior specialists, have been killed, and 159 others have been injured.
A total of 383 hospitals nationwide have been destroyed by military airstrikes, heavy artillery, and violent destruction.
Despite these grave losses, we healthcare workers remain resilient and continue our mission," said Dr. Shwe Pon.

The "Safe Hospital, Safe Healthcare" campaign, launched on May 24, aims to raise USD 400,000, and will run until June 30.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 2. SAC-M: ASEAN Has Once Again Failed the People of Myanmar

The Special Advisory Council for Myanmar (SAC-M) has declared that ASEAN has once again failed in its duty toward the people of Myanmar.

This statement followed the recent ASEAN Summit held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where the current ASEAN chairmanship resides. In its statement issued on May 29, SAC-M criticized ASEAN for another disappointing failure regarding the Myanmar crisis.

According to SAC-M member Marzuki Darusman, ASEAN’s inability to effectively implement the Five-Point Consensus reflects a lack of commitment and creativity in responding to one of the most serious regional crises in decades.

In the joint ASEAN Leaders' statement on Myanmar, the bloc reiterated its adherence to the Five-Point Consensus agreed upon in April 2021, and expressed support for ceasefire commitments from all armed groups, including the military junta.

However, SAC-M noted that just one day before the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ meeting on May 25, the junta carried out an airstrike on a wedding ceremony in Kyaukkyi Township, Bago Region, killing at least 10 people, including the bride and two children.

Prior to that incident, the junta also bombed a school in Dipeyin Township, Sagaing Region, killing 24 people — including 22 schoolchildren and 2 female teachers — and injuring 105 civilians.

SAC-M emphasized that ASEAN continues to take an unbalanced approach, remaining neutral between the junta’s brutality against civilians and the legitimate defensive efforts of the resistance forces.

SAC-M is composed of former United Nations officials and international experts, and actively documents and reports on human rights violations and atrocities committed by the junta since the military coup in Myanmar.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 3. SUNLONE Myanmar Sports Factory Accused of Overworking Staff and Denying Rest Days

On May 30, the Federation of General Workers Myanmar (FGWM) reported that the SUNLONE MYANMAR SPORTS CO., LTD factory, located near Nwa Kyan bus stop in Shwepyithar Industrial Zone, is forcing excessive overtime and denying rest days to its workers.

The Chinese-owned backpack manufacturing factory in Yangon Region’s Shwepyithar Township has allegedly been making workers work overtime without rest.

“We’re working overtime every day without rest since April. Even if we request a single day off, it’s denied. Over time, our health is deteriorating, and there are also safety concerns while commuting home,” workers told FGWM.

“We, the younger female workers, have not been given any rest days since April. We are forced to work until 8:30 PM daily. They said this schedule will continue until September. Working every single day without break has become unbearable,” one worker reported.

FGWM is now raising awareness about the factory’s labor rights violations, urging for better treatment and lawful working conditions for all employees.

Additionally, SDB Bank has enabled real-time deposit and withdrawal services through officially designated Regional Managers (RMs).

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 5. Over Twenty Thousand Arrested by Junta in Connection with the Coup; Over Ten Thousand Still Imprisoned

It has been reported that in connection with the unlawful military coup, the junta has arrested more than 20,000 individuals, with over 10,000 of them currently being held in prisons.

Among them, 22,068 individuals are still under detention, and 10,718 of those have already been sentenced to prison terms.

Furthermore, from the onset of the unlawful military coup on February 1, 2021, to May 29, 2025, a total of 6,764 pro-democracy activists and civilians have been killed during the Spring Revolution by the military junta and its affiliates.
