Myanmar Military News Updates – Jun 12, 2025 Morning

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. Revolutionary forces launch offensive on Ukrit Camp, previously touted by the junta as an 'undefeated stronghold'

Revolutionary forces launched an assault on the Ukrit military camp—one of the primary bases of the military junta located near the Myanmar–Thailand border—on June 11, according to Karen military sources.

The Ukrit camp previously came under attack in June 2022 during an offensive by revolutionary forces, during which partial control was gained. However, it was not fully captured. The military junta later used this incomplete seizure as a propaganda tool, proclaiming the base as a “living fortress” and boasting of a successful defense.

In the current offensive, the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) under the Karen National Union (KNU), the Karen National Defence Organization (KNDO), and local People’s Defence Forces (PDFs) are participating jointly, with the KNLA reportedly taking the lead.

Ukrit Village is strategically located on the main road linking the southern and southeastern areas of Myawaddy town. The junta’s military base is positioned north of the village, along the main highway.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. TNLA, DPLA, and PDF fighters jointly engaged in ground battle at Naung Cho, contradicting recent misinformation

Responding to misinformation that surfaced in recent days, DPLA Chairman Ko Htun Htun Naing clarified via social media that fighters from the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), the Democratic People's Liberation Army (DPLA), and People’s Defence Forces (PDFs) are actively collaborating on the ground in the battle for Naung Cho.

He stated:

“The TNLA has not expelled our DPLA forces or any PDFs from the Naung Cho operation. On the ground, we’re fighting hand-in-hand using a range of tactics.”

This clarification comes after false reports spread online on June 10, alleging that the TNLA had ousted PDF and other revolutionary fighters from the Naung Cho battlefield.
