The Three Brotherhood Alliance has announced a third extension of the ceasefire period for an additional month, aimed at continuing humanitarian assistance and solidarity efforts in areas affected by aftershocks across Myanmar.
According to the announcement, the ceasefire period has been extended from June 1 to June 30.
The alliance stated that while armed conflicts with the military council persist in various regions, they will refrain from launching any offensive attacks and will engage only in defensive responses when necessary to protect themselves.
The initial ceasefire was declared by the Three Brotherhood Alliance on April 1, following the major earthquake that struck Sagaing Region in late March, to allow for sustained humanitarian aid efforts. This marks the third extension of the ceasefire period.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 2. MNDAA Conducts Graduation Ceremony for Second Cohort of Weekly People’s Army Training Program

The MNDAA (Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army) has successfully held a graduation ceremony for the second battalion of its Weekly People’s Army Training Program, organized by the military training department under the command of the MNDAA's Commander-in-Chief.
The ceremony took place on May 31 at 8:00 a.m. and was attended by the Deputy District Administrator of Kokang District, the Deputy Director of the Military Training Department (Colonel rank), and the Deputy Director of the Armament Department of the Laukkai Township Administrative Committee.
Also present at the event were responsible personnel from the training battalion, officials from the administrative committees of Laukkai, Hsenwi, Hseni, and Chinshwehaw Townships, and 203 trainees. The ceremony was led by Battalion Secretary Zhang Wang.
The ceremony began with a briefing from the battalion commander summarizing the 34-day training program. This was followed by a reading of the commendation order by the deputy director of military training, praising outstanding leaders and trainees. Leaders in attendance then awarded medals of honor.
Subsequently, the deputy director of military training delivered a graduation speech, followed by a closing address from the Deputy District Administrator of Kokang. The ceremony concluded successfully.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 3. Eight Killed Including Officers During Ambush on SAC-Pyu Joint Patrol in Tantse Township

On June 2, while joint forces of the SAC military and Pyu militia were conducting patrols from The Khone Village in the direction of Aetaw Village, Tantse Township, they were ambushed by resistance forces, resulting in the deaths of eight personnel, including two junior officers. Two firearms were also seized, according to a statement released by Red Stars (Taze PDF Supporter).
The operation was reportedly carried out in coordination by:
- Tantse Pa Ka Pha (People’s Defense Force Battalion),
- District 2 Pa Ka Pha,
- Ye U Pa Ka Pha, and
- PLA (People’s Liberation Army).

๐ฉ๐ฉ 4. Underground Guerrilla Unit Eliminates Officer Who Threw Grenades at Oakpho Resistance Fighters

In Tharyarwaddy District, Battalion 3802, Unit 4, an officer under the command of the military council who had launched hand grenade attacks against the Underground Guerrilla Force - Oakpho Resistance Fighters, was eliminated in a retaliatory strike at the scene, according to an official statement.
The officer, Aung Moe Khaing, had been stationed at the Oakpho-based Column 6 of the military junta’s army in Paungtalone Village. On June 1 at around 6:15 p.m., he reportedly threw hand grenades at members of the People's Defense Forces (PDF).
The resistance fighters were able to evade the grenade attack in time and immediately responded by shooting Aung Moe Khaing three times in the head, resulting in his instant death on the spot.
The incident took place on the road between Chaungkhwa (K) Village and Tharyat Nhit Phyar Lain Village. A hand grenade was also seized from the officer following the engagement.
Aung Moe Khaing was a former military serviceman and a loyal informant for the junta. He was known for gathering intelligence on revolutionary forces, extorting money from civilians under the guise of conscription fees, abducting young people for forced recruitment, and guiding junta columns during military operations in the Yoma region.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 5. Ambush on Two Pyusawhti Vehicles Headed to Sin Min Village, Pakokku—Leader Kyaw Soe Naing Among Four Killed

At around 8:00 a.m. on June 1, members of the People's Defense Force (PDF) launched an ambush on two vehicles transporting eight Pyusawhti militia members—including their leader, Kyaw Soe Naing—who were en route to relieve duty at the gate checkpoint of Sin Min Village from Pakokku Town. The attack was confirmed by the Pakokku Township People's Defense Organization.
The firefight lasted approximately 45 minutes, during which four Pyusawhti members were killed and the remaining four fled the scene. Weapons and assets seized included one MA-3 rifle, one pistol, various ammunition, and 3.1 million MMK in cash.
According to locals from Pakokku, Pyusawhti leader Kyaw Soe Naing—a resident of Ward No. 2 on Naypyidaw Road—was among the deceased. His funeral was reportedly held at 9:00 a.m. on June 2.
The operation was jointly carried out by the Pakokku Township PDF, Pakokku District Battalion 16, and the Bo Kalay Joint Force. Resistance fighters successfully withdrew without sustaining any casualties.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 6. Abbot of Sithsamepin Monastery in Thayetchaung Killed by Artillery Fired by Military Junta

On June 1 at around 1:30 p.m., intense fighting broke out between the junta forces and revolutionary joint forces near Shwe Gu Bridge in the area of Shin Motthee Village, Dawei Township. The skirmish led to the junta’s indiscriminate artillery shelling across the Shin Motthee village tract for the entire day.
By around 3:00 p.m., junta troops stationed at the Department of Border and Ethnic Affairs Office in Dawei Town, responsible for overseeing development efforts in border and ethnic regions, fired over 100 rounds of heavy artillery into nearby areas.
The shelling hit Sithsamepin Monastery in Sawwa Village, killing Chief Abbot Bhaddanta Indobhasa, aged 66, with 46 vassas (monastic years), after he was struck directly by artillery shrapnel.
A monk disciple of the abbot recounted:
“As fighting broke out in the village, residents fled to the monastery seeking shelter. The abbot gave them words of encouragement, as people no longer felt safe staying in the village. Just as the abbot stepped out of his residence after encouraging the villagers, he was struck directly in the head by an artillery shell and died instantly. Part of his brain was completely destroyed. The shell hit at around 3:30 p.m., right inside the monastery compound.”

๐ฉ๐ฉ 7. SAC Airstrikes on Two Villages in Singu Township Injure Three Women

On June 1, 2025, at 2:26 p.m., the military junta launched an airstrike using a fighter jet on Nway Yone Village in Singu Township, according to a press release from the People's Defense Organization (Pa Ka Pha) of Pyin Oo Lwin District.
The attack reportedly destroyed two structures, but there were no civilian casualties in that incident.
Similarly, at 2:32 p.m. on the same day, an airstrike was carried out on the Lucky 7 Hotel located in Nat Taung Village, also in Singu Township.
As a result of this second strike, three female civilians were injured, including one who sustained serious injuries, according to the announcement.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 8. Two SAC Soldiers from LIB-342 Defect and Surrender to Pa Ka Pha in Kawthaung

Two soldiers from the frontline outpost of Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 342, based in Nandathone, Khamaunggyi Township, Kawthaung District, have defected from the military junta and surrendered to the People's Defense Organization (Pa Ka Pha) in Kawthaung Township, according to an official statement.
The defectors have been identified as Ko Zin Min Thu and Ko Nay Myo Htun, who fled their frontline post at LIB-342 and made contact with the Pa Ka Pha to surrender.
Details regarding the exact date of defection and whether they brought any weapons or ammunition with them were not disclosed.
The Kawthaung Pa Ka Pha also announced that they are prepared to receive and welcome any other junta soldiers who wish to seek refuge among the people in the future, encouraging them to make contact.
