๐๐ 6. "Early Monsoon Fund" Campaign Launched to Help Over 1,000 War-Displaced Civilians Survive the Rainy Season Safely
June 9
A campaign titled “Early Monsoon Fund” has been launched to help ensure over 1,000 civilians displaced by war can safely endure the upcoming monsoon season.
A statement from the campaign organizers reads:
“As part of our support for the war-displaced people of Pyin Kyaung Gauk, past experiences over the last four years have shown that failing to prepare in advance for the rainy season—due to adverse weather, road conditions, and scarcity of donors—has caused significant hardship.
That is why we are launching the Early Monsoon Fund to preemptively collect rice and rain covers, so that the difficulties we endured together in previous monsoons are not repeated this year.
Every contribution you make will provide food security throughout the rainy season and offer displaced communities shelter from the cold and the rain.”
The campaign runs from June 8 to July 8, with donation options as follows:
- One pyi of rice: MMK 5,000
- One sack of rice: MMK 120,000
- One rain cover: MMK 80,000
Donations can be securely made through SCF’s platform by clicking the Donate button next to the Early Monsoon Fund campaign image. Contributions are processed safely and efficiently via the Spring Development Bank (also known as the "People’s Side Bank") in Myanmar Kyats, with a minimum donation of MMK 5,000.
