To help protect students currently attending schools in Sagaing Region from the threat of aerial attacks launched by the military council, the Ministry of Women, Youth and Children Affairs of the National Unity Government has donated a total of MMK 50 million for the procurement of communication ICON devices.
The funds were distributed in response to a lack of early warning systems that had previously led to significant losses and casualties. The donations were coordinated by responsible officer Ma Chaw Su Han, who facilitated the transfer to township-level officials to strengthen advance risk preparedness and early warning measures.
Due to earlier deficiencies in timely information dissemination, people had only been able to respond to incoming aircraft by rushing to seek shelter in bomb bunkers or evacuating to safer locations upon hearing the sound of airplanes.
