The Acting President of the National Unity Government, H.E. Duwa Lashi La urges sustained efforts to nurture Spring Revolution and establish a Federal Democratic Union, the Chairman of the Kachin Independence Organization (KIO), General N’Ban La urges unity to fulfill unfinished tasks of the revolution and the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of the National Unity Government provides a total of 567.64 million kyats in humanitarian assistance in July.

1. The Acting President of the National Unity Government, H.E. Duwa Lashi La, has called on the people to continue support for the Spring Revolution in his address on August 8, the 37th anniversary of the 1988 pro-democracy uprising, emphasizing the goal of establishing a new federal democratic union. The Acting President stated that in the struggle to eradicate military dictatorship, revolutionary forces must learn from past mistakes and adapt to current circumstances to advance the revolution. The Spring Revolution has revived and fortified the groundwork laid by the 1988 pro-democracy uprising, and we must collaborate to sustain this momentum until a new federal democratic union is established. The Spring Revolution currently maintains strong public support.

The Chairman of the Kachin Independence Organization (KIO), General N’Ban La, called for continued unity among the people and revolutionary forces to complete the revolution's goal of dismantling the military dictatorship, speaking at the Kachin Martyrs’ Day commemoration on August 10. Inspired by fallen soldiers, the KIO chairman urged KIO/KIA troops to remain steadfast and strive for victory. General N’Ban La also condemned the junta’s airstrikes and artillery attacks on civilian areas, including schools, churches, monasteries, and displacement camps, and urged civilians to remain vigilant. He also called on revolutionaries and youth to protect the nation and its people. He urged support for the families of fallen resistance fighters, including those from other revolutionary groups, and for those injured or disabled in the conflict. The Kachin Independence Organization/Army (KIO/KIA) remains a leading ethnic revolutionary organization against the junta, supporting and coordinating with other armed groups that arose during the Spring Revolution, including those aligned with the Ministry of Defense of the National Unity Government (NUG).

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of the National Unity Government (NUG) announced that it provided a total of 567.64 million kyats in humanitarian assistance during July 2025 to those most in need. The ministry's report details that people-funded support was allocated as follows:199.31 million kyats for emergency food aid to 149,613 displaced people and refugees; 35.23 million kyats for emergency aid to 167 fallen heroes and 317 injured civilians in conflict areas; 0.45 million kyats for political prisoners and families; 303.77 million kyats for natural disaster victims; 5.25 million kyats for CDM staff and their families; 11.63 million kyats for general humanitarian support; and 12 million kyats for vulnerable people and their families. In its July report, the ministry highlighted the people's unwavering commitment to the revolution for over four years, despite significant challenges. It lauded the resilience, determination, and sacrifices of citizens nationwide in their ongoing pursuit of success.

4. The Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM) reports systematic torture in Myanmar's detention centers between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025. Evidence, including witness testimonies, reveals abuses such as beatings, electric shocks, strangulation, gang rape, and other forms of sexual violence, including burning of genital areas. IIMM head Nicholas Koumjian stated the findings constitute "clear evidence" of systematic torture. Koumjian stated that progress has been made in identifying perpetrators, including commanders of detention sites, and that evidence is ready to be shared with judicial authorities willing and able to prosecute these crimes.

Justice For Myanmar (JFM) has urged the Indian government to immediately end all arms sales and military cooperation with Myanmar’s junta and to impose sanctions on the Light Head Group network and related individuals. Justice For Myanmar (JFM) reports that since the 2021 coup, India's Air Force, state-owned enterprises, and private companies have provided the junta with weapons, dual-use goods, technology, and fuel. The organization also cites evidence of Myanmar military officers receiving training in India as recently as 2024. In 2022, training occurred at the Indian Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering in Hyderabad. In 2023, India’s Defence Secretary Shri Giridhar Aramane met with Myanmar's Defence Industries Chief Lt-Gen Kan Myint Than and junta leader Senior Gen. Min Aung Hlaing. Indian experts also assisted in upgrading the junta-controlled Mann Thanbayarkan oil refinery in Magway Region, which produces aviation fuel used in junta airstrikes.
