📌📌 1. Discussion on Magway Federal Unit’s Interim Plan, Future Work Processes, and Collaboration

On August 13, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., the Central Working Committee (CWC) of the National League for Democracy (NLD) held a virtual meeting via the Zoom platform with the Magway Federal Unit Parliament.

At the meeting, the CWC delivered opening remarks, followed by a welcoming address from the Chairperson of the Magway Federal Unit Parliament.

Subsequently, the Magway Federal Unit Parliament presented a brief explanation on the emergence of the Magway Federal Unit’s interim plan. CWC officials then engaged in open and candid discussions with representatives from the Magway Federal Unit Parliament on views regarding the interim plan, future work processes, and matters related to collaboration.

The meeting concluded successfully at 11:10 a.m. with closing remarks from a CWC official and a note of appreciation from a representative of the Magway Federal Unit Parliament.

📌📌 2. NUG Representative Office in Australia Launches Fundraising for the "Save Schools, Save Education" Campaign

The Representative Office of the National Unity Government (NUG) in Australia has proudly announced the launch of a fundraising drive to support the humanitarian initiative “Save Schools, Save Education,” led by the NUG Ministry of Education.

This campaign aims to respond to the urgent educational needs of children in conflict-affected and liberated areas of Myanmar. To safeguard children’s futures and ensure access to education, the NUG Ministry of Education is leading a program to construct and renovate secure educational facilities.

To facilitate this effort, the NUG Representative Office in Australia is collaborating with the Lokapala Foundation (ABN 47 664 737 482), which has been granted DGR status by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). This allows donors in Australia to make tax-deductible contributions.

All funds raised will be used strictly for humanitarian purposes in accordance with Australian laws and regulations. Implementation will adhere to principles of transparency, accountability, respect for donor intent, and alignment with international humanitarian policies.

📌📌 3. Lin Lin and Chit Su Wai’s “Red” Concert Tour Raises Nearly USD 400,000 for Disaster Victims, IDPs, Education, and Healthcare

Singers Lin Lin and Chit Su Wai’s five “Red” concerts have raised nearly USD 400,000, which has been channeled back into supporting disaster victims, internally displaced persons (IDPs), as well as education and healthcare sectors.

The “Red” concert tour will continue with performances in Milwaukee on August 16 and New York on September 13.

Speaking about the tour, Lin Lin said:

“Under the title Red Live 2025, concerts will be held in many U.S. cities. All profits from the shows will be immediately delivered to the ground under three main headings:

  1. Rehabilitation of revolutionary families (families of fallen heroes, CDM families, families of activists, and families of detainees/prisoners),
  2. Educational assistance provided under the leadership of grassroots leaders,
  3. Equal human rights movements across both upland and lowland regions.”

The opening show in the U.S. was held in Maryland on April 12, raising USD 112,578.

📌📌 4. Film “Smile” Featuring Actor Min Maw Kun to Continue Screening in Japan and Thailand

The film Smile, featuring actor Min Maw Kun, will continue its screenings in Japan and Thailand.

As the promotional theme “3-4-5 Smiles” suggests, the film will be shown from city to city and country to country. Screenings are scheduled for August 24 in Tokyo, Japan, and August 31 in Chiang Mai, Thailand. In September, it will be shown on September 21 in Gunma, Japan.

Previously, Smile was screened in Sydney, Australia, drawing a large and enthusiastic audience.
