๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 1. Acting President Duwa Lashi La urges unwavering perseverance in the Spring Revolution despite current hardships and obstacles, to march collectively until the revolution’s goals are achieved

September 7

The Acting President of the National Unity Government (NUG), Duwa Lashi La, has called on the people to persevere without wavering and to march together until the objectives of the revolution are achieved, despite the current hardships and obstacles faced by the Spring Revolution.

He made this statement today, September 7, on the occasion of the 4th anniversary of the declaration of the People’s Defensive War.

The Acting President stated that the oppressive machinery unleashed by the 2021 military coup has become unbearable for the people, forcing every individual’s life and body to be sacrificed for the prolongation of the military dictatorship’s rule.

He further encouraged the people to continue marching forward and fighting without compromise until the revolution’s goals are achieved, so that the immense sacrifices already made will bear meaningful results.

He explained that it has been clearly witnessed by all of us that the military dictators have no hesitation in trampling upon the lives, homes, and possessions of the people in order to perpetuate their rule.

He recalled that such acts of oppression were also experienced in the ethnic mountain regions even before the 2021 coup, and at present, both the mountain areas and the central plains alike are suffering under the oppressive machinery of the dictatorship. As a result, the people exercised their right to self-defense and began the resistance.

The ongoing People’s Defensive War is a great revolutionary wave, uniting the mountains and plains to resist the dictatorship both militarily and politically. Because the entire ethnic populace and ethnic revolutionary organizations have joined together in solidarity, the terrorist army has faced military defeats unprecedented in its history.

The Acting President also pointed out that regional countries, prioritizing their own interests, have been providing the terrorist army with military technology and assistance. He appealed earnestly to neighboring countries not to push Myanmar’s ethnic peoples into a hopeless situation.

He further noted that the terrorist junta leaders are not only striving to secure military assistance from neighboring countries, but also attempting to manipulate domestic politics by staging a sham election to deceive the people.

This sham election, he warned, is not a solution for peace but only fuel for prolonging the civil war. Therefore, he urged regional countries to turn their gaze not to the faces of the dictators, but to the people of Myanmar as a whole, and to support the emergence of a federal democracy, which is the roadmap for Myanmar’s future. The Acting President also called on both neighboring countries and the international community to join hands in this effort.
