The National Unity Government (NUG) successfully submitted the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) report, which every country is required to present under the Paris Agreement, at the COP26 conference, according to Union Minister Dr. Tu Hkawng's announcement in February.

"Under the Paris Agreement, all countries are obligated to submit an NDC report. The purpose of this report is to outline a national economic plan that enables each country to reduce carbon emissions by 50% by 2030. Myanmar had started preparing this report during the NLD administration but could not complete and submit it. However, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation (MONREC) under NUG managed to submit the comprehensive NDC report, which spans over a thousand pages, at COP26.

Despite challenges in communication with the National Focal Person (the designated UNFCCC email holder) due to their non-CDM status, the report was successfully submitted via the secretariat team," he stated.
