๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. Prime Minister Mann Win Khaing Than and NUG Ministers Visit Ground-Level PDF Members

It has been reported that Prime Minister Mann Win Khaing Than and ministers from the National Unity Government (NUG) met with ground-level members of the People's Defense Force (PDF).
According to news released in December, Prime Minister Mann Win Khaing Than, along with Union Minister for Labor Nai Thuta Wan, Deputy Minister U Kyaw Ni, and Secretary Nai Thaw Roat, met PDF members. The delegation delivered words of encouragement and listened to the concerns and reports presented by the PDF members.
Currently, NUG officials are actively conducting field inspections in regions under their administration.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. NUG's Minister of Human Rights Expresses Gratitude to PDFs Participating in Human Rights Day Commemorations

NUG Minister of Human Rights, U Aung Myo Min, expressed gratitude via social media on December 10 to the members of the People's Defense Force (PDF) participating in the Human Rights Day activities.
"I am grateful to the PDF members from the Yangon region headquarters and other battalions who immediately took photos of the delivered T-shirts upon arrival. The participation of these PDFs, who protect the public’s welfare, in such movements is immensely significant.

Human rights are not just a one-day practice on December 10 but require consistent safeguarding every day, all the time. I hope that members of the PDF, beloved revolutionaries, and law enforcement officers will continue to serve with this spirit."

Additionally, training sessions on military ethics and adherence to human rights standards are being conducted for PDF members.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 3. NUG Urges Military Officers and Soldiers to Break Away from Min Aung Hlaing and Seek Honorable Exits

The NUG has urged all military officers and soldiers of the oppressive regime to distance themselves from Min Aung Hlaing and seek an honorable way out.

During the December 10 National Unity Government press briefing, U Nay Phone, spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, stated:
"We call on remaining officers, enlisted personnel, and soldiers within the Myanmar military to rescue the institution from the grasp of violent leader Min Aung Hlaing. Join efforts to transform the military into a non-partisan, civilian-protecting institution aligned with federal democratic principles and political neutrality.

At this critical juncture, breaking away from Min Aung Hlaing is clearly the best path for all involved," he added.

Between January and November 2024, a total of 475 personnel defected, including 302 infantry soldiers, 11 naval officers, 11 air force officers, 133 police personnel, and 5 prison staff, with some ranking up to Lieutenant Colonel. Among them, 191 defectors brought their weapons with them.

The Democratic People's Liberation Army (DPLA) has reported that over 50 junta troops were killed, and many others injured during a 10-day conflict in the Kyaukgu region.

In Yatsauk Township's Kyaukgu region, battles between the DPLA and junta forces began on November 30. On December 9, the DPLA announced that they had captured weapons from junta forces.

Local residents have been warned to stay away from conflict zones as clashes continue.

The Monywa District Battalion 4 has announced an urgent need for uniforms for 30 new recruits as of December 10.

"Uniforms are essential to equip these newcomers as we await deployment. Currently, we seek emergency provisions for uniforms," the announcement stated.

Each uniform costs MMK 180,000 (approximately $85), and those willing to support can contact Monywa District Battalion 4 via Facebook.
