On December 26 at 1:30 PM, members from four committees of the CRPH—namely, the Women, Youth, and Children’s Affairs Committee; Public Affairs Committee; Security and Defense Committee; and Education Committee—held a video conference with officials from the National Unity Government (NUG) and its Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Education, and Health. The discussion focused on ensuring continued education for resistance fighters who lost limbs and displaced youth during the Spring Revolution. They also explored providing health services, vocational training, and livelihood opportunities, according to a statement.

During the meeting, members of the four committees discussed policies and initiatives for facilitating access to education for displaced youth and disabled fighters, including opportunities for international scholarships. They also addressed the development of federal education through township-based board schools, community-based organizations (CBOs), civil society organizations (CSOs), and private educational programs. Specific attention was given to expanding training in vocational, technical, and economic development skills; information and communication technology (ICT); and telecommunication technologies. Additionally, discussions included implementing mental health and psychological care services.

Representatives from the ministries presented updates on efforts such as programs for continued education for CDM (Civil Disobedience Movement) students and revolutionaries who lost access to schooling during the Spring Revolution. Updates included organizing Basic Education Completion Assessment (BECA) exams, collaborations between the Ministry of Defense and battalions to provide higher education opportunities for disabled fighters, reopening medical universities, and promoting online education in collaboration with international institutions. The Interim Federal Education Council (IFEC) was reported to be actively implementing its initiatives.

On healthcare, updates included reopening over 80 hospitals, drafting emergency mental health policies, and setting up 11 facilities for prosthetics and artificial limbs to assist disabled fighters in rebuilding their lives.

The committees agreed to continue collaborating with the NUG and relevant ministries to develop policies within the legislative domain. The meeting concluded at 4:00 PM.

Attendees included CRPH Secretary Daw Phyu Phyu Thin, secretaries and members from the four committees, NUG Foreign Affairs Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung, NUG Education and Health Ministers Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, Deputy Minister Ja Htwe Pan, and other officials.

The Ta’ang National Party (TNP) reaffirmed its commitment to the people’s struggle for federal democracy and the eradication of authoritarianism, including the military dictatorship. The declaration was made during the party’s third congress, held from December 24–25 in a Ta’ang region, with 93 participants, including central committee members, civil society representatives, and observers.

The congress elected 38 central committee members, 21 executive committee members, and leadership teams for the fourth term through a secret ballot process. It also adopted five resolutions, 11 official records, and eight future action plans.

The TNP strongly opposed the sham election planned by the military junta and condemned attacks on civilians, such as airstrikes and heavy artillery bombardments, which have displaced numerous people and caused immense suffering.

The congress welcomed the successes of the Spring Revolution, including Operation 1027 and the efforts of ethnic revolutionary groups to uproot the military dictatorship. The TNP declared its intention to actively participate in all stages of the political roadmap led by the Ta’ang Political Consultative Council (TPCC).

December 28
Radio NUG

In certain areas of the Arakan region, some locals, due to misunderstandings, have cultivated small amounts of kratom plants (also known as Mitragyna speciosa or opium leaf plants). In recent days, the Arakan People's Authority, in collaboration with members of the ULA/AA forces, the Arakan Public Security and Rule of Law Department, and relevant administrative offices, has conducted field operations to identify, eradicate, and burn these plants, according to reports from the APM.

Furthermore, those involved in cultivating kratom plants have been educated about the prohibition against such activities and warned not to continue. Authorities have stated that if further cultivation is detected, strict legal action will be taken.

Scientifically known as Mitragyna speciosa, the kratom plant (commonly referred to as opium leaf plants) is a psychoactive plant that can cause intoxication when consumed. Overuse of this plant can severely harm one's health and, in extreme cases, may result in death.
